What does it cost?

Zontians help people less privileged than themselves to learn to help themselves, so there is an expenditure of time, energy, expertise...and money.

There is an annual subscription which covers members’ contribution to International and District running costs, and some Club expenses. Annual fees for the Zonta Club of Bunbury are currently $150. There is an initial joining fee of $30.00.

Recurrent costs include the cost of your dinner meeting which includes an administration fee, voluntary contributions to fundraising, and registration and travel to International, District and Area meetings, if you  attend.

Who is eligible for classified membership in a Zonta Club and how does it work?

Members are executives or professionals in a recognized business, institution or profession working at least 50 percent of a normal week and willing to support the objects of Zonta.

A member's classification is based on occupation. Zonta's classification system consists of hundreds of occupations. The classification system is based on an international standard used by every country in the world to classify occupations in their population census and a composite of many country lists.

What is the duration of classified membership?

Classified membership shall be for life after five years of membership, except in the case of resignation, suspension, expulsion or nonpayment of dues. Club bylaws options allow a member terminated for nonpayment of dues to be reinstated upon payment. Also, a member who moves to the territory of another Zonta club may be elected to membership in that club provided the required dues have been paid. Clubs may choose whether to allow a member's leave of absence and whether to set club attendance requirements.
