What are the Programs, Awards & Scholarships of Zonta?

Zonta programs, awards and scholarships occur at four levels:

INTERNATIONAL and DISTRICT LEVELS

New service programs are proposed and voted on by clubs delegates at the bienniel International Convention, therefore all clubs work towards supporting international programs.

International programs, awards and scholarships: Nominations start at the club level, and successful club awardees go forward to the District, for the selection of a District candidate. District winners then proceed to Zonta International and the overall winners are selected. This is an ongoing process.

 AREA AWARDS

For ease of administration, Clubs in a Zonta District are divided into Areas. The six Clubs in Western Australia form Area 3 and the 'Woman of Achievement' is an annual Area Award in which these Clubs participate.

CLUB AWARDS

Individual clubs often have their own local awards. The 'Women's Non-traditional Trade Award' is a Zonta Club of Bunbury award. A full list of scholarships and awards offered by all the Area 3 Clubs can be viewed from the menu under 'Documents'

For details of all the programs, award and scholarships, please see the relevant web pages on the menu to the left.

The Young Woman in Public Affairs Program is an international program that  recognises young women for their commitment to  volunteerism, volunteer leadership achievements and dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Since 1990, more than 446 women between the ages of 16 and 20 representing more than 49 countries have been recipients of these Awards.
